We recently returned from a trekking adventure in Nepal, our third trip with Teremar after earlier trips to Southeast Asia and Italy, and once again they were second to none.
Teresa handled all of the pre-trip planning well in advance: paperwork, visas and other entry documents, discounts, and a detailed itinerary. She kept us informed every step of the way and gave us thorough guidance on everything from what to pack and which vaccinations were recommended to what to expect each day.
Even with a ten-hour time difference, she texted us within minutes of our plane landing to make sure we had arrived safely, and she stayed in touch on every leg of the journey. She was so connected and on top of things that it felt like she was traveling with us.
When unexpected monsoon rains and mudslides disrupted our plans, Teresa went straight to the head of the Himalayan trekking company. She made sure alternative arrangements were in place and secured upgraded accommodations when the interruption forced us to change hotels.
Her support didn’t end when we got home. She put together a complete package for our trip interruption claims and made sure we filed them on time.
From our very first conversation to the final insurance claim, Teresa had our backs. She is a truly outstanding travel agent and partner, and we are so grateful for everything she did to plan, monitor, and follow through on every aspect of our trip. You can’t go wrong with Teremar!

We booked our Tauck tour with Teresa because we like the way she simplifies the process. She helped select a tour that best matched our expectations. I particularly like the book that she prepares with all the itinerary information and correspondence all in one place. We probably spent an hour going over the tour details (she came to our house). It pays to use an agent; we didn’t realize the benefits we received from Tauck because we were repeat customers (Teresa pointed out that we could get a free extra night at the hotel).
We give Teremar Travel 5 stars on helping us navigate our tour with Himalayan Glacier Co but we give Himalayan Glacier only 4 stars as a company but 5 stars to their guide Shankar who helped us deal with all the adventures and misadventures on the hike itself. Our hike started at the end of September which is usually good weather but due to an unusually extended monsoon season, the area was still experiencing heavy rains. As a result, the hike was delayed multiple days along the route and we couldn’t finish. Shankar helped us get past landslides and washed out trails safely. He then helped us coordinate great adventures when we had to return to Pokhara early.
Teresa at Teremar kept tabs on us multiple times a day to make sure we were safe and getting all that we needed from Himalayan Glacier. We will not take another trip anywhere without using Teremar Travel!

Teresa curated a “once in a lifetime” trip for us to Ecuador! We started in the Colonial old town of Quito in a beautiful old mansion now hotel on Plaza de San Francisco. Our guide Ma Alex Larrea (Marialex) was outstanding: smart, funny, knowledgeable, and engaging. What a great personality she has. And she went the extra mile to show us additional things not on our itinerary!
After a quick day in Quito, Teresa had arranged for us to go to Mashpi Lodge in the middle of a rain forest. The lodge was nestled in the middle of a beautiful mountain jungle where we took daily guided hikes to see rare plants, animals, birds, mommies and frogs including a small, beautiful glass frog. We visited a butterfly research center, a hummingbird haven. And rode cable cars and a bicycle cable over the forests! We had a night hike and morning bird spying. Great guides, beautiful lodge and exceptional meals!
Our itinerary then took us on flights to the Galapagos Islands and an Alexander and Roberts 7-day boat tour on the Pinta, a ship for 48 passengers. The islands were otherworldly with blue footed boobies, marine and land iguanas, frigate birds, penguins, giant tortoises, and sea lions just a few feet away at almost every step! In addition, we got to swim with sea turtles and sea lions while snorkeling. The seas were like an aquarium with schools of beautiful fish to swim among!
Teresa picked a great company, Alexander Roberts, and itinerary for us! This is our fifth trip using Teremar Travel. We highly recommend Teresa and her company for organizing any adventure you want to go on anywhere!
